After close analysis, it was determined that a combination of spammy links back to the website, keyword stuffing, and over optimization of the pages was hindering their ability to come up where they needed to be: in top positions for shelving related terms.
We developed a strategy that addressed several of their pain points, most importantly: gain immediate visibility to generate revenue through paid advertising. While optimizing and managing their paid advertisements, we also began to remove the spammy backlinks that had once been an easy way to game the search engines into showing a website first. We groomed their content and URLs to remove duplicate content and improve the user search experience as much as possible within the current platform. In addition, we launched content marketing campaigns on a freshly installed blog to aid with our social media management strategy targeted to the manufacturing and warehousing industries.
As time went on, the current website was just not meeting the business or user needs any longer.
